Recreation NL Partners

Recreation NL has been involved with many partners through the years. These partnerships assist with networking, sharing resources and improving recreation opportunities within the sector. We have been working with organizations on three levels of partnership, which include:

Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation

Supports the development of sustainable economic growth in the tourism and cultural industries; support the arts and foster creativity; preserve the province’s cultural heritage and historic resources and recognize their importance; and promote participation in recreation and sport and support sport development.

Municipalities of Newfoundland and Labrador

The purpose of the Municipalities of Newfoundland and Labrador is to assist communities in their endeavor to achieve and sustain strong and effective local government, thereby improving the quality of life for all the people of this province.

Sport NL

Sport NL is the volunteer organization committed to the promotion and advancement of amateur sport throughout the province. We represent 45 provincial sport organizations and over 70,000 individual members through: The provision of various programs and services; Liaison with government, communities, media and other representative organizations, and; The provision of direction and leadership on issues which affect its members.

ACT – Alliance for the Control of Tobacco

Alliance for the control of Tobacco is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the negative health, economic, and environmental effects of tobacco use on the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador

School Sports is an important non-profit grassroots organization in the social, cultural, educational and economic landscape of our province. Through School Sports activities students Grade 4 – 12 from schools all across the province engage in activities that promote healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship and responsibility. They are encouraged to participate in the educational opportunities available to them. It also serves to teach leadership skills, goal setting and involvement in your school and community life.

Newfoundland and Labrador Therapeutic Recreation Association

Newfoundland and Labrador Therapeutic Recreation Association exists to address the needs of therapeutic recreation practitioners in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador in order to enhance the quality of services provided to the people we serve.

Canadian Parks and Recreation Association

Canadian Parks and Recreation Association is a national organization dedicated to realizing the full potential of parks and recreation as a major contributor to community health and vibrancy. Membership includes the 13 provincial and territorial parks and recreation associations and their extensive networks of service providers in over 90% of Canadian communities.

ParticipACTION

ParticipACTION’s goal is to create a nation where daily physical activity is not only a priority, but also second nature – as natural as child’s play. Bringing Canadians together and creating a nation where physical activity is a vital part of everyday life – that is the future ParticipACTION envisions. Let’s get moving.
