Being active keeps us healthy and grounded, but making time for recreation isn’t always easy during a busy week. That’s why we’re here to help you make time for yourself. Our team connects people directly with local programs, facilities, and outdoor spaces across Newfoundland and Labrador, so you can easily find ways to get active right in your own community.
Recreation Newfoundland and Labrador (RNL) has been helping communities stay active and connected since 1971. We’re a province-wide non-profit working alongside the volunteers, leaders, and towns who keep local recreation running every day.
To support the people, places, and programs that make recreation happen across NL, making sure everyone has access to activities that improve daily life.

Thriving communities across Newfoundland and Labrador where active living is a natural part of everyday life.
Sharing what works. We connect recreation leaders across the province to swap ideas, solve local challenges, and highlight the value of active living in our towns.
Speaking up for recreation. We keep physical activity and local spaces at the centre of provincial decision-making, ensuring community recreation gets the support it needs.
Building local skills. We offer practical workshops and training so municipal staff, coaches, and volunteers have the tools they need to run great community programs.
