End Date: August 21st 2026

Work Term: 8 weeks
Work Hours: 35 hrs/week
Hourly Pay: $16.35/hr

Job Overview
This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. It is designed to assist Recreation NL staff with the overall planning, organization and delivery of the programs and services of the Association.

Organizational Status
Recreation Newfoundland and Labrador (RNL) is a province-wide, not-for-profit organization established in 1971 to promote the values and benefits of recreation.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Contribute to the CPRA’s National Facilities Database (review, analyze and update current Recreation NL data for accuracy and input data into the national framework).
  • Manage large data uploads
  • Collect data through community outreach
  • Liaise with communities to receive data and fill knowledge gaps
  • Promote the national database through social media
  • Work to develop a career fair package
  • Perform regular environmental scans to help generate Professional Development webinars and programming for Recreation NL members
  • Perform regular environmental scans for funding and grant opportunities for Recreation NL members (research federal, provincial, municipal, and private sector funding programs relevant to recreation)
  • Summer communications and social media support (assist with showcasing the benefits of recreation for physical and mental health during the summer months)
  • Support staff with upcoming events, projects and programming
  • Attend staff meetings and other 1:1 meetings with community partners
  • Complete other duties as assigned

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Data management and analysis

  • Time management
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • English fluency

 Assets:

  • French language skills (not required)
  • Experience or interest in the parks and recreation sector
